How Merchant Data Extractor Works
Extracting merchant and catalog details takes only a few seconds. Follow this straightforward 5-step guide.
Install the Chrome Extension
Visit the official Chrome Web Store listing, click "Add to Chrome", and confirm the installation. Pin the extension to your Google Chrome toolbar by clicking the puzzle icon in Chrome so it is always accessible with one click.
Open a Supported Website or Listing Page
Navigate to any supported e-commerce or merchant website in your browser. Browse to the specific merchant storefront, brand page, or product catalog listing you wish to inspect.
Activate Merchant Data Extractor
Click the Merchant Data Extractor icon in your browser toolbar. The extension popup opens and immediately executes its client-side parser against the current active tab's rendered DOM.
Extract Available Merchant & Product Information
The extension reads the visible HTML elements—such as merchant identity, seller ratings, product headline, SKU, current pricing, and inventory state—and normalizes them into structured data within the popup window.
Copy, Export, or Use the Extracted Information
Choose how you want to use your data: click "Copy Data" to paste formatted structured text directly into your clipboard, or click "Export CSV" to download a comma-separated values file directly onto your computer.
Transparent Chrome Permissions
We adhere to the Chrome Web Store principle of least privilege. Here is exactly what our extension accesses and why.
1. activeTab Permission
The extension requests the activeTab permission solely to read the rendered DOM elements of the specific tab you are currently viewing when you click the extension icon. It never accesses tabs running in the background and does not monitor your general browsing history.
2. storage Permission (Local Only)
The storage API is used to cache user preferences (such as preferred export format) locally on your device via chrome.storage.local. No extracted data is ever synced or dispatched to an external server.
